INDIAN LITERACY PART 1
Literacy is the most important and powerful things in the
world.It is fully essential to social and human developement in its ability to
transform lives. Most important the comprehension of the structural
implications of literacy. Literacy is the quality or state of being literate.
Literacy is a key piece of helping people acheive their goals, develop their
knowledge and potential,and participate fully in their community. Indian
literacy is most powerful in all over the world. Indian literature refers to the
literature produced in the Indian subcontinent until 1947 and in the Rebulic of
India thereafter. The Republic of India has 22 officially recognised languages.
In oldest India, earliest works of Indian literature were orally transmitted.
The veda is first epic in sanskrit literature.Veda has 4 parts – Rig,Sama,
Joju,Othorba. Veda is educational epic. It is a holy epic of Arya religions.
Ramayana and Mahabharata is an ancient Indian epic poem. Ramayana was wrote by
Valmiki Muni. Mahabharata was wrote by Vyasa Dev. In the 9th and 11th
centuries appeared literature in kannada and Telugu respectively. Later,
Marathi, Odia,Bengali,Various dialects of Hindi, Persian and Urdu literature
began to appear as well. Early in the 20th century, Bengali poet
Rabindranath Tagore became India’s first novel laureate. Bengali and Assamese
has huge amount of literature. Highest literacy award getting Bengali and
Assamese. There are so many strongest writer born in west Bengal, Tripura,
Assam, Odisha. Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam has little amount of
writer. But Punjabi, Monipuri, Meghaloyan language has some writer more than
South Indian language and Hindi. Bengali writer, novelist and activist
Arundhati Roy is first Indian Man Booker winner. Man Booker is famous prize in
the world It is a literacy prize awarded each year for the best original novel,
written in the English language and published in UK. Arundhati Roy was awarded
for his best novel ‘The God Of Small Things’ in 1997. Not only Arundhati Roy,
Indian writer Kiran Desai & Arvind Adiga also awarded Man Booker Prize.
